OUR MISSION
Artform Swapmeet was designed to provide a space for local artists and art appreciators to have mutually beneficial exchanges in a unique environment of entertainment, education, inspiration, and community support though all art forms.
We hope to provide a virtual and physical platform for local artists and musicians to not only showcase and sell their art, but also to encourage community members and art appreciators to invest in local artists, and to connect with new, like-minded individuals.

ARTFORM SWAPMEET
OUR HISTORY
Artform Swapmeet was formed in 2017 as a unique event designed to integrate the local SD/TJ art and music scene into an all encompassing art event, and was one of the first of it's kind.
We found our first home at Title Tk in City Heights (now known as San Diego Content Partners). From 2017 - 2019, AFSM had a successful run which included 4 events at Title TK, one event at Space Bar in City Heights, and two events in Los Angeles.
We believe in an art scene that's unified by our shared passion for a community enlivened by art. At our first 5 events, we showcased local musicians, DJs, illustrators, comic artists, poets, painters, sculptors, designers, and vendors side by side. In doing so, attendees we're able to enjoy live poetry and musical performances, while browsing the pop-up shops from local artists all in one night.

At our live events, we also offered our guests the unique opportunity to showcase themselves as artisans as well! All attendees were encouraged to bring their own zines, prints, and merchandise, to share or trade with other local artists like themselves, thus expanding their networks, building connections, and creating visibility throughout the art scene.

WHAT'S NEXT
In 2020 Artform Swapmeet has partnered with The El Cajon Business Improvement Association in finding our new home at Fair@44 in City Heights! We will now be able to transform AFSM into a large-scale, all ages, community art event that includes local artists, craft vendors, and even local food trucks.
Although COVID-19 has affected our plans to serve as a monthly community art fair during Summer 2020, we are committed to continuing to serve our community through our IG Artist Takeovers, and social distancing community events like our Fresh Fruit Swap.
